The piece marks a significant milestone for the Lagos-born creator, as he was able to reference some of Michael’s original artworks for this project. He also chose to work in oil painting, a medium he selected deliberately to convey the gravity of the subject.

The 13-track “Michael: Songs from the Motion Picture” collection, which was released on the same day as the global release of the film, spans early Jackson 5 classics to solo smash hits, and is available on vinyl, CD, and tape—with Slawn’s artwork set to feature on an alternative vinyl pressing.
