Back Outside With Sarz: Has BNXN Maintained the Magic?

Can BNXN join the list of Sarz's greatest collaborations?

Sarz has quietly built one of the most consistent records in African music. Not just as a hitmaker, but as someone who genuinely draws the best out of whoever steps into his orbit. From Wizkid and Niniola to WurlD and Lojay, whenever Sarz links up with an artist, the result is usually back-to-back bangers. That’s a gift worth noting.

You could see the class early on with his Wizkid records, like “Beat of Life.” Then he took it further with WurlD on I Love Girls With Trobul, blending Afrosoul into something theatrical and way ahead of its time. He ran it back with Lojay on LV N ATTN (hello, “Monalisa”), linked with Obongjayar for the soulful Sweetness, and kept the momentum with Asake and plenty more artists across different eras — always creating classics.

It shows how he spots real chemistry and builds around it.

What makes Sarz different is what he said himself: “Making a song with the usual suspects is kind of normal to me now. I’m trying to push and challenge myself.” he said in an interview with Culture Custodian. That mentality is exactly why every collaboration feels fresh.

Now it’s BNXN’s turn. The Game Needs Us is a five-track project, entirely produced by Sarz — and whether that standard holds here is still playing out. The two have shown flashes of real chemistry before, on “Gwagwalada” and “Pidgin & English,” and the early signs are good enough. Lead single “Back Outside” hit No. 1 on Apple Music Nigeria, and upon release, the EP pulled 1.47 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in a single day.

The case is being made. Go stream The Game Needs Us and decide for yourself.
