Shakira shared a one-minute teaser clip of the song and music video set to premiere on May 14. The teaser was filmed on the iconic pitch of Brazil’s Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, showing Shakira dancing in a vibrant yellow outfit while holding the Trionda, the official match ball for the 2026 tournament, as Burna Boy harmonizes alongside her and dancers dressed in the colours of participating national teams move across the field.

This marks Shakira’s second official FIFA World Cup song, following “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 tournament in South Africa — a record that now sits at 4.5 billion views on YouTube.

For Burna Boy, the placement is a continuation of a growing lineage. Davido was the first Nigerian artist to feature on a FIFA World Cup theme song in 2022, and Tems became the first African artist to perform at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show in 2025. Burna Boy’s presence on “Dai Dai” extends that lineage directly into the tournament itself. He previously headlined the 2023 UEFA Champions League final kick-off show in Istanbul, performing to a massive global audience before the Manchester City final.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off June 11, with the final on July 19 in New York.
